Kutties Let us begin Today's Story!
Once, in a small village, there lived a wise salt merchant. He used to sell his goods in the market of a nearby town. He used to carry his goods there on the back of his donkey. The merchant was fond of the donkey and took care of him. But the donkey was lazy and did not want to work at all.
To get to the market from the village, the merchant and the donkey had to wade across a shallow stream. A Salt Merchant drove his Donkey to buy salt.
On road home back home, at the stream the donkey tripped and fell by accident and noticed that the bags of salt loaded on his back became lighter.
The Merchant went back to the market by the seashore and refilled his bags with a larger quantity of salt than before. When he came again to the stream, the Donkey fell down on purpose in the same.
The merchant quickly discovered the donkey’s trick. He drove back the Donkey for the third time to the coast, where he bought a cargo of sponges instead of salt.
The foolish, tricky donkey again set on its way. On reaching the river he again fell into the water.
Because of water entering the sack, the sponge became wet. So instead of the load becoming lighter, it became heavier.
The donkey’s load became a lot heavier than before. He had to carry this heavy load the rest of the way. The merchant laughed at him and said: “You foolish donkey, your trick had been discovered. This is for your laziness!"
